three.6 Out Of 5 Stars (39 Customer Reviews)
Reviews for Optoma EP-PK-101 PICO Pocket Projector- four oz (Office Product) I've had this for approximately a week now. I've watched about three motion images on it, played Gears of War 2, and watched the Cotto/Pavlik struggles off pay per view on this.
We watched the fielding matches at my brother's rental, we had the Pico on a tripod and linked to a 2.1 Logitech system. We had been in a position to with no trouble watch the fights on a 122 inch picture on the wall! We if reality be told may have long past larger but didn't on account of space restricts. Mind you, the lounge used to be about 90% darkish, and the walls are gentle brown and not white. We have been quite impressed!
What I've now noticed although is that this thing is supposed for VGA-type stuff. Yes, Gears of War 2 was playable, however it looked... like crap. This is the case whilst you try to play something that is meant to be performed at 10801 or 1080p and view it thru VGA. It's going to appear bad.
I knew this before I bought the Pico. My primary use for that is to appear at DVD's and play Nintendo Wii off of it. So, in case you might be predicting high-definition off this factor, do not purchase it. Only purchase this if you're going to look at stuff on the go, and you remember its barriers. Yes, it's expensive, however it is the highest of its form, at the least at the moment (until the Microvision Laser Pico come out, wow) and it would not really feel like a 1st technology product.
    Pros:
    - 10 or 11 lumens... not that dangerous!
    - which you might get a suprisingly big image size!
    - I guess as a outcome of the DLP, the purples this produces are RED, like it glows purple almost. You won'tice this, trust me.
    - extremely portible, smaller than my Ipod Touch 2G and LG Voyager.
    - comes with 2nd battery, Ipod adapter... mainly the whole lot you want proper out the field.

    Cons:
    - EXPENSIVE (however, I acquired mine for $349 via Microsoft Live cashback).
    - You need a DARK, darkish room to get the full effect
    - "Rainbow" effect because of the DLP, but it's not that dangerous really.
    - I truly have the feeling this is going to get old-fashioned quick, since the expertise is sufficiently small to slot in cellular phones.
    - You need to be aware of and expect its limitations, if which you can't do not used to bete your cash.

    ***UPDATE: (11/27/10***
It has been reasonably a while when you recall that I have used this. Since the fee has long past down so much, it isn't even price selling. However, there still might be many uses for this product.
Reviews for Optoma EP-PK-101 PICO Pocket Projector- 4 oz (Office Product) It works precisely as describe. Actually, it goes to output a lot huger than 60" with out much distortion. As long as you do not compare it to the very huge tabletop projectors or much more pricey models you're going to now not be disappointed. The brightness over-all is best than some other adaptation that I obvious of equal worth, however you nonetheless desire a rather darkish room for it to be effective, as I think about is the case for most projectors. I'm pleased with it and would recommend it for what it's value. It's a 4 oz device, not a 60" plasma HDTV.
Other tools are at all times "just around the corner", but if you happen to aren't into ready a few months in hopes of worths to begin reducing and with untested durability with new instruments then this may also be a good selection. It's already been closely tested and no malfunctions or defects or lifespan issues mentioned as of but.
Reviews for Optoma EP-PK-101 PICO Pocket Projector- four oz. (Office Product) We purchased a collection of these for work(to be used with both the iPhone and iTouch). I would most probably give this projector 3 1/2 megastars, but it surely was as soon as no lengthyer an option. We have not been the use of this very lengthy, but those that have used it have been very impressed (it is healthier than what we were expecting).

Are these for everyone? I would say no. The picture high quality is first rate, nevertheless it does now not come just about huger projectors that don't price much more than this does. My guess is that lots of people will need this because it appears cool, however I'd wager that the general public is no lengthyer going to use it so much as soon as the novelty wears off.

The picture is first rate when viewed in a very darkish room. The milder the room, the extra the image will get washed out. It does not take much light either earlier than the image is was as quickly ashed out and most effective usable in case you are moderately with reference to the skin you would probably be projecting the image on. Even in darkish rooms, the picture is on the darkish facet (whites will have a bluish tint). There is a in-built speaker, however it's principally priceless so plan on connecting it to some type of exterior speaker.

I realize that the overview appears a little bit bad and I do no longer need you to assume that we're not happy with these. Like I mentioned above, we have been more than happy with what these can do. The media mans might no longer be the use of these to indicate HD video to purchasers, but they're going to get numerous use. We have various folks that trip rather a lot for training functions. They regularly must pack around a laptop/dvd player, projector, exterior audio system, and the entire wires needed to connect everything collectively. They are usually in smaller rooms presenting to small groups. For this objective, the projector goes to work very well.

Here is what we've acquired put collectively. Instead of packing around the tools mentioned above, our managers now have their iPhone or iTouch, the Optoma Pico Projector, and a suite of mini speakers from a company referred to as Grandmax (Grandmax.com). The speakers are powered from the iPhone and aren't a lot bigger than the projector (the sound is excellent for the size).
